Call Students if They Are Absent for an Extended Period of Time
There are several
reasons to do this.
First, and most important, you are showing your concern.
In addition, you might find out that there was a death in the family or serious illness.
By giving absent students the homework they missed you prevent them from falling behind.
You might ask another student for permission to photocopy their class notes.
This will insure that students take notes in class in order to help their classmates succeed.
